7 September 2022. Today, the World Health Organization (WHO), with support from the International Humanitarian City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, airlifted the first of three shipments of emergency medical supplies to Benghazi airport in Libya. The supplies will help health facilities respond to health needs across the country, particularly in the south where the situation continues to deteriorate.

The shipment comprises more than 23 tonnes of medicines and medical supplies such as personal protective equipment, emergency health kits, burns kits, anaesthetics, and essential medicines and supplies to diagnose and treat patients with tuberculosis.
