A total of 31 new cases of cholera were recorded in Iraq, 18 of which are in the capital, Baghdad, according to the announcement of the Iraqi Ministry of Health on Saturday.

The Parliamentary Health Committee in the country had previously revealed the presence of the illness in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The Deputy Chairman of the committee, Majid Shankali, called for the Ministry of Finance a few weeks ago to allocate funds from the emergency budget to support both the Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Region.
