Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar inspected on Sunday the project to establish Manfalut Model Hospital in Assiut at a construction cost of EGP 266m.

This comes within the framework of a series of field tours conducted by the minister to follow up on the progress of work in medical facilities and to determine the level of quality of medical services provided to patients, as well as follow-up on the rates of completion in health projects being implemented and to identify any challenges that may face the work.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar — Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population — explained that in a meeting with the companies implemented the project, the minister stressed that the rates of construction work are unsatisfactory given the five-year period allotted for the project’s completion, pointing out that there were no financial obstacles or challenges to cause this delay.

The minister then demanded that all hospital buildings must be delivered by the end of the year to begin the process of stocking the hospital with the needed medical equipment, integrating it into the health system, and providing medical services to the population of the city of Manfalut.
