Ministry of Health announced on Monday, that Iraq has entered a new epidemic wave of COVID-19.
"Through the follow-up of the epidemiological monitoring teams of the Ministry of Health to the latest developments in the daily epidemiological situation of the Corona pandemic in Iraq, there is a noticeable increase in the percentage of positive cases from total examinations during the past days, as well as an increase in the number of hospitalized cases," said the ministry’s media in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The statement included that "this means Iraq will enter a new epidemic wave, and this is what the Ministry, the World Health Organization and international scientific institutions have constantly warned of the possibility of new epidemic waves or the emergence of new mutant.”
