Raising Pneumonia scare in Afghanistan amongst other crises

Afghanistan has an increasing number of Pneumonia cases due to the beginning of the cold climate amongst other humane crises as the Taliban overtook them last year.


What is Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an infection that affects the lungs of an individual. The virus that causes the disease affects the respiratory organs such as influenza virus, rhinovirus, and respiratory syncytial virus which effects commonly in kids. These viruses attack the lungs causing the air sacs to inflame and fill up with pus or fluid. Children and elderly people are most prone to this disease and can be fatal to them.

Symptoms and Treatment of Pneumonia

Pneumonia can show up as coughing and chest pain initially, which may resolve in itself in certain healthy individuals who have been vaccinated. If the infection prolongs high fever, heart rate, chills, and sweat start to set off which may lead to wheezing or shortness of breath and dehydration. These diseases need medical intervention and treatment by antibiotics and penicillin and in some cases, oral therapy is been IV fluids are administered.
